In the world of fashion, there are a lot of things that are hot right now, but this is mostly true for very expensive jewelry. When it comes to hip-hop, right now everyone is all about showing off the “bling.” If you have never heard of this word, it pretty much stands for very expensive jewelry.

In the rap videos nowadays, the rappers wore necklaces that hang down to their belt lines (some times lower). However, the “bling” really does not have too much to do with how long it hangs. It has more to do with what is on the end of your necklace. The pendants that they hang from their necks are usually huge, and are solid gold laced with different color diamonds.  That’s right, nowadays not even normal diamonds are enough to show off your very expensive jewelry. You have to have different colored ones. In fact, right now the in thing to do is to have your pendant be the colors of the American flag (red, white, and blue). However, the “in” thing changes almost weekly, so there are not many people that can afford to go out and buy a new pendant every day (unless you really are an up and coming rapper).

 The prices of these necklaces are off the charts! Most of these necklaces cost more than what people make in a whole year. They can range anywhere from thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars depending on your make and model. I mean, that costs more than most high dollar cars! So the next time you are thinking about going out to get some very expensive jewelry like the rappers have, you better make sure you save your pennies and dimes.
